According to the 2024 edition of the European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS) published today, most EU Member States have boosted their innovation performance, but the increase varies strongly from one to another.

At its recent meeting on 26 June, ERAC adopted two documents with recommendations for the future: 

Iliana Ivanova, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and Francois-Philippe Champagne, Canadian Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, have signed the agreement that gives Canadian researchers and organisations the opportunity to participate in the programme on equal terms with their EU counterparts.

On 1 July, Hungary takes over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union for six months. Amongst the seven priorities Hungary has defined for the next months, 'Improving the competitiveness of the EU (New European Competitiveness Deal)' features prominently.
